I can’t say it enough, these two continue to amaze us and melt our hearts with the little things they say and do. Last week I blogged about how fascinated Dawn can be with books, and how Rain loves kissing and hugging her dolls. You know how, when you have toddlers, you make sure to stash a few toys in your diaper bag when you go out? For us, our stash always includes a stuffed toy (or puzzles!) for Rain and some books for Dawn.

Just a few more weeks to go before their 2nd birthday! And just 12 more weeks left this year!

One time Jodi said, doing this 52 Week Project feels like counting down in reverse. It’s Week 40 this week, and dare I say, 2014 has turned out to be my most favorite year in the history of ever. And the year is not even over yet.

Home Inspiration: Scandinavian Home Office Spaces

Is it just me or commute is really doubly hard these days? The other day I went to our Makati office and spent (more like wasted) almost 5 hours of my day in transit. Here in Manila, 5 hours of commute doesn’t mean idle hours where you can read a book or enjoy your view. Instead, that’s 5 hours of being up on your feet, getting pushed and shoved at, smelling all sorts of unpleasant body odors, and being paranoid about pick pockets.

I’m glad I don’t have to go through that ordeal everyday, and that I get to work from home most of the week. It’s times like being stuck in horrible traffic or queuing for over an hour at the MRT station that I appreciate being able to work from home even more.

38/52: Twenty-three Months

Photographs of our twin daughters, once a week, every week, this 2014.

Last September 24, this^ happened, and the countdown to their 2nd birthday begins.

How did we get to this point again?

It’s like I woke up one morning and suddenly, it’s been 23 months! 23 months of warm baths, ridiculous amount of diapers and milk bottles, messy house, closets bursting with too many tiny clothes, 4-hour sleeps, co-sleeping in a queen-size bed, and waking up with chubby arms and legs on your face. Twenty. Three. Months.

23 months

And then last night, after a looong work week, this^ happened. We finally managed to squeeze in a trip to Cuts for Tots to get their bangs trimmed. We had dinner at Jollibee, strolled around the mall, and did some grocery shopping. How’s that for a Friday night?

Notice in the first set of photos how unruly their bangs were? I’m too scared to cut them myself, especially since it’s their birthday soon. I don’t want them to have bangs malfunction, not on their birthday!

#LIFEWITHTWINS

Just like most twins, Dawn and Rain are like the opposite ends of a pole. Dawn loves singing (like crazy! she sings everything), tinkering on my iPhone, and flipping through books. Rain loves playing with puzzles and stuffed toys, putting on dresses and accessories, and digging in my makeup kit. Dawn is a little shy around people (at first), while Rain says hello to practically everyone she meets (even strangers!). Dawn can sit still (and read flip through books) for long periods of time, while Rain always looks for something to explore. In bed, Dawn likes squeezing herself between me and her Daddy, while Rain likes being left to herself. In the morning, Dawn wakes up earlier, while Rain often oversleeps.

I could go on and on listing down their differences—things that make each of them unique and special and wonderfully made. And I love that in spite of their very different personalities, they’re still alike in so many ways.

Happy 23 months little darlings. We love watching you both grow! Even more so, we love growing along with you. Thank you for giving us countless of reasons to thank God for every single day.

Paper Love: Blooming Greeting Cards by The Cosios

carlosandveronica-Blooms-01

I’m a sucker for paper products, as well as hand painted & hand drawn art, so when I saw these greeting cards designed by Carlo and Nica Cosio through Martine‘s feed, I swooned! That portion of my heart which gets all tingly about paper products was suddenly awakened, and I wondered, why again did I stop blogging about these things?

That’s right. Once upon a time, I blogged a lot about my paper obsessionmy collection of journals, those Starbucks planners, wedding invitations I love—and took photos of them with a passion. That is, until two little girls became the subject of my photographs, which naturally became the content of this blog. Not that I regret that part, not at all. I just thought I should start blogging about paper again. ;)

Seeing these hand made greeting cards on my Facebook feed made me really happy today!

Someone’s not in the mood to have her photographs taken last Sunday! Guess who? :)

And someone’s a little speechless tonight, too. (Guess who?)

The past week was just one of those ordinary weeks, but not really, because come to think of it, nothing’s been “ordinary” around here since these two became a part of our lives, which I guess makes the past week extraordinary in a way.

I suppose that’s why I’ve been staring at this post for the past 30 minutes, smiling to myself, unable to caption these photographs, thankful beyond words for everything I can’t quite put to words, and grateful to God for the extraordinariness of each ordinary day. You know what I’m saying?

Hope the past week left you feeling speechless too. Have a great week ahead. :)
