7/52: Everyday is Valentines Day

Dawn & Rain: Loved these heart-shaped balloons we bought from a street vendor on Valentines Day.
Dawn: Marched around the house holding her balloon the whole night, squealing in delight.
Rain: Liked her balloon too, but she seemed to like to spend time with her Daddy more. #myheart

It’s been a month since these photographs were taken, please bear with me on this dated Valentines post. I remember receiving flowers from D that day, and cooking dinner for him, and getting out of the house to run errands together, and then chancing upon a street vendor who was selling heart-shaped balloons.

I guess you can say that it was uneventful by traditional standards. But I realize now, when you’re older (or when you have kids), that V-day is just another day, and you can make any day Valentines Day anyway. Just like now, when I suddenly thought about posting these photographs. :)

At the risk of sounding like a bad Hallmark card, everyday is Valentines Day in this house!

Dawn’s captured moments could totally pass off as stock photos don’t you think?

This is where the twins decided to camp out while watching Veggie Tales one morning. Sometimes, this is also where they play, or have their snacks, or just hang out. I have yet to see any of them sleep in that box, though. When that happens, you bet there will be lots and lots of pictures!

5/52: Sundays are fundays

Photographs of my daughters, once a week, every week, in 2014. Week 5.

52 Week Project

5/52: Dawn & Rain

Dawn: Is the twin who’s always munching on food. “A foodie”, is what her Daddy calls her.
Rain: Is the twin who likes making facial expressions and smiling in front of the camera.
Dawn & Rain: Are like two opposite ends of a pole, and we love how different they are and yet similar in so many ways.

It was a Sunday afternoon when these photos were taken, and we just got home from church. I love taking pictures of them on Sundays because of two things: (1) They’re wearing their Sunday best (you gotta love dressing up twins!), and (2) I love keeping remembrances of Sundays, specially when they’re spent the way they should be—with family.

D and I took turns taking photos with the twins, and I love love love these moments he captured. Priceless!

It’s so hard to pick which photos to share! Needless to say, there are more versions of these where they came from:

Of course, the ones with their Daddy are filled with tickles and laughter. #myheart! Reminds me of this post, and ohmy, how they’ve grown!

Told you she’s the twin who likes making faces. :)

Dawn & Rain: Practicing their little legs and knees. They’re almost walking now. Still a little wobbly, and sometimes needing support, but oh my, they’re walking!
Rain: Was the first one to walk, and she’s the twin who makes more careful and steady steps.
Dawn: Is just learning to walk, but she’s a little more daring, fearless, and excited. :)

I can’t help it. I captured too many pretty shots! Time for some photo dump.

Dawn & Rain: Were helping me get the groceries out from the box, so that I could put
them in the pantry. (That’s right, I choose to call this “helping”.)

Rain: Has this crazy fascination with boxes and baskets and anything she can fit herself in.
Dawn: Was happy to find her favorite yoghurt drink from the box of groceries.

With Despicable Me 2 being the twins’ current favorite movie, I was so sure that this photo set was bound to happen. It’s the only movie that captures their attention from start to finish, although it seems that Frozen is becoming the second most-watched movie lately.

There’s this specific scene in Despicable Me 2 that Rain is crazy about. THIS ONE, where Minion Dave falls in love with Lucy. Watch it. The moment Dave jumps out of the table and takes a lovesick look at Lucy, Rain starts giggling like a high school girl who has a crush. She’s 15 months old, mind you. Sometimes we would fast forward to that scene just to see Rain’s funny reaction. It never fails.

Seriously. I sometimes wonder how a 15-month-old could be that attentive.

On the other side of the twindom, Dawn is starting to learn how to smile and pose for the camera. Yes! And this Mommy right here is absolutely smitten.
