I can tell this story from two perspectives: First, from behind the scenes where I got to witness how this passion project came to life, from drawing board to launch date, from vision to reality. And second, as one of the many Moms who are (and will be) inspired and empowered by this passion project.
It has been such an honor to be in both sides of the fence, and I couldn’t be any more proud of the 100% Whole Mom ladies.
Rica, Marilen and Chesca
These women need no introductions! We watched them on TV growing up, and we all have seen them bloom from child actresses and teen models to influential women and moms. But what we couldn’t see from the other side of the TV screen or from the glossy pages of a magazine is how the Lord has been preparing them for something bigger than showbiz.
As mothers themselves, this passion to inspire and empower other moms has grown too big for their hearts to keep, and it was just so brilliant how the Lord brought the three of them together to make this vision a reality.
So after months of brainstorming sessions, Facebook messages and planning, 100% Whole Mom was finally launched, and it wasn’t like any other media launches. Mostly it was a special treat for us moms, a declaration of God’s work in us, and a celebration of motherhood.
Surely, this passion project is an outpouring of love, and the media launch was a mere representation of how big that love is.
They couldn’t have picked a better venue! Earth Kitchen was just the perfect backdrop to the “Farmers Market” feel that the concept was based on. This Earth Kitchen branch is the one in White Plains, which has function rooms / halls for events. They also opened a new branch in BGC. Follow Earth Kitchen on Facebook.
There were lots of custom-made gifts and thoughtful giveaways that were just.. mom-centric, curated to nurture the home, beauty, and heart. Thank you so much to the sponsors who contributed to the success of this event.
Rica, Chesca and Marilen invited their Mommy friends, and I just love how women, no matter what their career or background is, can simply and naturally bond because of this thing called motherhood.
I was never “lucky” enough to win raffles or giveaways. But they pre-picked one of the giveaways especially for me!! I wasn’t sure if I was going to laugh or cry when they called me in front to receive the Sofitel Gift Certificate from Agoda. They know how much I’ve been working lately and knew exactly what I needed—A nice long break, in the form of this Sofitel staycation. Thank you, ladies! (And thank you again, Sofitel + Agoda.)
My blissmaker friends were there, Martine de Luna of Make it Blissful and Louise Fernandino of Mommy Practicality
Matchy matchy with (Ate) Stef Juan of OMF Literature; Been bumping into Stella Esquivias of Misis Teapot a lot lately! (Hello Stella!)
With some of the media launch support team and sponsors: Erin Songlia (of Seda Nuvali), Jamie Espadilla (official photographer), Stef (OMF Literature), & Marj Liwag (chalk board art)
I was there with some of my Pursuit Manila sisters (and future Moms! ehem!), who happen to have played a huge part in helping put this event together! Hats of to the ladies of Oomph Styling—Madz, Beam, and Christine! You guys are amazing! The venue was beautiful :)
These exclusively designed 100% Whole Mom Passion Cards were also launched and given away! You can purchase these cards HERE.
Aside from treating us to delicious food and showering all of us with presents, the 100% Whole Mom ladies shared to us their individual passions and invited us to join in this vision
What 100% Whole Mom is About
100% Whole Mom aims to inspire moms to make happy homes, embrace her beauty, and nurture the heart. And they’re doing this through a series of workshops that are open to ALL MOMS. Marilen will share tips and other ways to organize and beautify the home. Chesca will teach ways to care for the skin, health and beauty. And Rica will tackle on aspects of the heart, including personal reflections, writing and journaling.
Carla couldn’t have said it better:
The point of Whole Mom really is to provide an avenue for moms to learn practical advice about some of the most forgotten yet important parts of being a mom: Home, Beauty, Heart, as well as the atmosphere of openness and inspiration and fellowship with one another. Moms need breathers, growth, and acknowledgment. And sometimes, the best people to do this are the very ones who are in the same boat also. This is also why we don’t claim to be perfect moms, but only fellow ones who understand and would like to extend a listening ear and a helping hand.
I personally can’t wait! In the short time that I’ve known Marilen, Chesca and Rica, I can already attest that there’s so much we, moms (and future moms!), can learn from them.
It’s funny when you see these three loosen up and make fun of themselves, knowing that they too are imperfect moms who don’t always have it together all the time. This sets an atmosphere of openness and comfortability, which affirms us mothers that we’re all in this together. I’m pretty sure the workshops will feel like just making chika over coffee!
