I thought it’s not enough that I twitted and posted a Facebook status message about my quest for Polaroid sheets in this third world country, so now I blog about it too. Again. Because I still can’t find Polaroid sheets for my One 600 (ever since I got it 4 months ago), and now that I have acquired a new toy — a Polaroid Spectra 1200FF which I won from an ebay auction, woot! — I’m even more desperate to find both Polaroid 600 and Polaroid Spectra packs.
Where in the Philippines can you get these stuff anyway? I heard there are stores in Hidalgo, Quaipo that sell them, I still have yet to check that. (But I also heard that finding polaroid film packs in Quiapo is unlikely, so yeah, I don’t know what to believe anymore).
In the meantime, I torture myself some more by browsing through pages after pages of Flickr photos such as these:

Why issit raining Polaroids everywhere in the world BUT the Philippines? Is it wrong to sometimes wish I live in a different country because of this?? Haaaay.

hi are u selling polaroid film?
Riz says
Unfortunately, not anymore. You can hardly find any polaroid film, even in the US/UK. The stocks are all running out. I think the best place to get them is from http://the-impossible-project.com/, but I think their film are still work in progress til now.
I think I have one box left of Polaroid 600 film that I’m not using (or not planning to use, I guess.) Do you want to buy it nalang? :)
SEE MY RESPONSE TO THE COMMENT BELOW YOURS. Thanks!

Riz says
Hi Brix! Sorry, I sold it a long time ago! But Heima sells them. I saw some on their display in Heima LRI branch. :)
Brix Rosales says
Where is Heima?? Sorry :) and the LRI :) hehe
Brix Rosales says

Hi, were you bale to buy a film in the philippines?
Riz says
Unfortunately, NOT. :) I spent $300 getting polaroid sheets from Ebay (US) last year, got them, but not all of them turned out ok, the quality ain’t that good. I had some of them up for sale, but no one thought paying P2,500 for a pack of 10 sheets was worth it so I ended up using all of them. :)
If you want to do instant photography, I suggest you get a Fujifilm Instax instead, the Instax 7s and Instax 210 are pretty neat :) Film isn’t that hard to find too. :)

:D I have a polaroid one step, and it’s real difficult to find film so this is basically our only hope :D

I know how you feel! It is very hard to find everywhere else now too, since Polaroid officially stopped making it a few months back. Its impossible to find in large cities like Boston and the only way I’ve found any offline has actually been in very small towns, possibly because people are less artsy and the demand is lower? We might be in luck soon though.. have you checked out http://www.the-impossible-project.com/ ?

I just bought some Polaroid film on Ebay. It’s expensive because they’ve stopped making it (the ones I bought expire this month!)
Have you seen this site: http://www.jbschilling.com/sx70.html

Have you looked on Ebay for film?
Also, have you seen the different ways you can manipulate the pictures once you develop them? An example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qhNJ1ExqIw
I just got a Pronto! camera yesterday (http://www.jenniferanthony.info/Blog/Entries/2009/9/14_Entry_2.html) but not sure if it works yet…the film is expensive (and everything I’ve found on Ebay expires this month!).

Hi,
Do you have http://www.ebay.com available where you live? They have a lot of Polaroid film. Also Polapremium.com I’m not positive if they ship to where you are, but it’s worth a shot to check it out. Good luck!! It’s getting hard for us in the states to get Polaroid film too…it’s so pricey!! Thanks for adding my pic, btw :D
Riz says
I always lose in ebay auctions! LOL. Will keep trying though. I checked Polapremium once, they don’t ship to the Philippines though. :-s
Your polas are always post-worthy! :)
